Charles T. Doyle

Charles T. "Chuck" Doyle is Chairman of the Board of Texas First Banks, located throughout Galveston County. He is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Texas Independent Bancshares, Inc., of Texas City. Doyle is a member of the Board of Directors of VISA U.S.A., Inc., the Board of Directors of Visa International, and the Board of Directors of Inovant. Doyle was a Director of Certegy, Inc., an international payment systems company listed on the New York Stock Exchange, from July of 2001 to December of 2005. He served on the Federal Advisory Council to the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve in Washington, D.C., 1996 to 1998, representing the Eleventh District of the Federal Reserve System, served as Vice Chairman of the Committee in his final year of 1998, and served six years as a Director of the Federal Reserve Bank in Dallas, Texas. Doyle joined the Board of Directors of CHRISTUS Health Gulf Coast in January of 2005.

He is past president and former member of the Board of Directors of Independent Community Bankers Association of America, Washington, D.C. Doyle served on the Advisory Board of the Southwestern School of Banking at Southern Methodist University, and he is a former Board member of the Texas Tech University School of Banking. He also was organizing director of Texas Independent Bank in Dallas, Texas. He was named Texas Banker of the Year in 1987. Doyle helped organize and served six years as Chairman of the ICBA Bancard, Inc., a national credit card network of over 2,000 community banks. He remains an Advisory Director to ICBA Bancard. He is a member of the American Academy of Management and the American Arbitration Association.

Doyle was formerly Chairman of the Governing Body of Directors of St. Mary's Hospital in Galveston and served a number of terms on the UT Medical School Development Board in Galveston. He was elected Mayor of the City of Texas City in 1990 and created a project, "Goals 2000", which led to over $100 million in City improvements and brought national recognition when Texas City was named All-America City finalist in 1995 and 1996 and received the title in 1997. Doyle is active in numerous civic organizations, was recognized as a Paul Harris Fellow by the Texas City Chapter of Rotary International, was named the "Man of Vision" for 1992 by the Society to Prevent Blindness, and served as Mayor Pro Tem and Commissioner of the City of Texas City from 1964 to 1982. He is a former President of the Houston-Galveston Area Council of Governments, served as a member of the Transportation Policy Council, and was named one of the "Five Outstanding Young Texans" in 1965. Two of his sons, Patrick and Matthew, have also received this award. Doyle was named the 1994 "Citizen of the Year" by The Galveston County Daily News, in honor of his efforts to bring the County's economic and political forces together. In February of 1998, Charles T. Doyle was named "Citizen of the Year" by the Texas City Sun, and in 2000 he was named the Citizen of the Year by the Texas City-LaMarque Chamber of Commerce. In October of 1998, he was presented the "Distinguished Citizen Award" by the Boy Scouts of America. He was chosen to receive the 1999 Sam Walton Business Leader Award; and, more recently, in January 2000, Doyle was awarded a special Citizen of the Century Award by The Galveston County Daily News. In 2002 the City of Texas City awarded one of their first governmental awards to Doyle for his vision for Bay Street Park and other parks built during his achievements as Mayor. Doyle was also Past President of the Boy Scouts of America, Bay Area Council, from 2000 to 2001; and he received the Boy Scouts' Silver Beaver Award in 2005.

Doyle holds a BBA in Management and Economics from the University of Oklahoma and an MBA from the University of Houston. He and his wife, Mary Ellen, reside in Texas City and are members of St. Mary's Catholic Church, where he serves as Lector. He is a member of the Knights of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem. He and Mary Ellen have five children and nineteen grandchildren.

Matthew T. Doyle

Vice Chairman

Matthew T. Doyle

Matthew T. Doyle is Vice Chairman of the Board of Texas First Bank and currently serving as Mayor of the City of Texas City. This is in addition to the multitude of other professional and community activities and involvement.

Doyle was named one of Ten Outstanding Young Americans for 1994, in recognition of his commitment to community service and his ability to overcome adversity to succeed professionally. He had been previously honored as one of the Five Outstanding Young Texans in 1993.

A 1980 graduate of Texas Tech University with a Bachelor's Degree in Finance, his alma mater honored him with the Young Alumnus Outstanding Achievement Award in 1993.

Doyle has completed additional studies at the American Bankers Association Collection School, Houston; Oklahoma University/American Bankers Association Installment School; and the Southwestern Graduate School of Banking at Southern Methodist University.

Upon graduation from college, he was affiliated with the Mangum Brick Company, Mangum, Oklahoma; and in 1981 he was elected to the Board of Directors, assuming the seat held by his grandfather. The company was founded by his great-grandfather in 1902.

An Eagle Scout, Doyle began his successful journey as a banker in 1981, when he joined Bank of Santa Fe, Santa Fe, Texas (now Texas First Bank - Santa Fe). Upon completion of management training, he was elected Assistant Vice President. It was in 1982, when he was an installment loan officer, that he was involved in a diving accident that left him paralyzed from the chest down. With four months in rehabilitation, Doyle made a remarkable recovery and returned to his job just months after the accident.

With remarkable success, he continued his career as an independent community banker in Galveston County, and his portfolio has grown to become the largest and most profitable of all the lending officers in the system. In 1985, Doyle was elected President of the Bank of Santa Fe and the Bank of the West (now Texas First Bank - Galveston), expanding the Galveston bank in 1991 with an additional facility on Galveston's Broadway.

In 1992 he was elected Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors at the Gulf National Bank (now Texas First Bank - Texas City) and a Board Member of the First State Bank of Hitchcock (now Texas First Bank - Hitchcock).

After extensive study and reflection, in 1995 all of the banks with which Doyle is affiliated became Texas First Banks, and they are Galveston County's locally-owned family of independent community banks.

Doyle is a Board Member of the Independent Bankers Association of Texas and a member of the Young Bankers Division, serving as President in 1990. He is a Board Member of the Independent Community Bankers of America; Executive Vice President and Board Member, United States Management Corporation, Hitchcock; Board Member, The Independent Bankers Bank, Dallas; and was appointed by the Governor to the Texas Rehabilitation Commission. Doyle was elected to the City Commission of the City of Texas City in 2000 and 2002, where he served as Mayor Pro Tem. In 2004 he was elected as Mayor of the City of Texas City. Doyle was elected to the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas Board of Directors for a term of three years beginning January 1, 2001, and re-elected for a second term beginning January 1, 2004.

Doyle has been a driving force and past President of the Texas City Jaycees; Trustee and Foundation Member, College of the Mainland, Texas City; Chairman, Independent Living Board of Texas City; Member, Finance Committee, St. Mary's Catholic Church; and Trustee, Gulf Coast Center for Mental Health & Mental Retardation, which honored him as Citizen of the Year in 1992. He is an avid supporter of the United Way fund drives and of the Galveston County Fair & Rodeo. In 1999 he received the Rotary Vocational Award; and, in 2004, he was named a Paul Harris Fellow by the Texas City Rotary Foundation.

Doyle resides in Texas City with his wife, the former Debbie Faulkner of Abilene, also a Texas Tech graduate. The couple has two children: Sean Thomas and Erin Elizabeth.

Christopher C. Doyle

President/CEO

Christopher C. Doyle

Christopher C. "Chris" Doyle is President/CEO and a Member of the Board of Directors of Texas First Banks. He also serves as President of Texas Independent Bancshares, Inc.

In May 1988, Doyle graduated with honors, Cum Laude, from Texas Tech University with a BBA in Finance. Doyle serves as a Member of the Advisory Board of the Texas Tech School of Community Bank Management. He also received the Certified Financial Planner designation in April 1991.

Doyle is currently a Member of the Board of Directors of the Independent Bankers Association of Texas (IBAT) and a Member of the Board of Directors of SWACHA, two trade associations for the banking industry. Doyle served as President of the 2002-2003 Leadership Division for IBAT.

Doyle is a true leader and is committed to his community and civic activities personally and professionally. He is Chairman of the Salvation Army Board and a volunteer with the Boy Scouts of America. Doyle is also an Eagle Scout, a former member of the Texas City-LaMarque Jaycees where he served as Treasurer and President, and a former Member of the Board of Directors of the Texas City - LaMarque Chamber of Commerce.

Doyle received the IBAT Excellence in Leadership Award in 2005, in 2006 he was named One of Five Outstanding Young Texans by the Texas Jaycees, and in 2007 he received the Texas City- LaMarque Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year Award.

Doyle resides in Texas City with his wife Stephanie Katherine Doyle and their four sons, Corbin, Charles, Christopher, and Cullen.
